5 Ways To Start Your Day Right

The way you start your morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. Everybody has bad days - it's just a way of life. But if you can start your day on a positive note than they won't seem so bad after all. With just a few small changes to your morning routine, you can start on the right foot feeling awake, energised, prepared and motivated for the day ahead.

1. Prepare The Night Before
One of the best things you can do to start your morning off well is to start the night before. Make sure you get enough sleep so you've got plenty of energy when you wake up. There's nothing worse than feeling tired and groggy before you even start your day. Set an alarm the night before and don't even think about pressing the snooze button, the longer you stay in bed, the worse you will feel. Also, give yourself more time in the morning than 15 minutes. Sleep is valuable I know but I think feeling awake and prepared is worth the time.

2. Healthy Habits
Starting your day off with a short routine of healthy habits will help you feel energised and ready for the day ahead. Set aside at least 10 minutes to drink some water, wash your face and do some light exercise. This will give your body a chance to wake up slowly and you will feel much more refreshed and ready to start the morning on a positive note. There are plenty of short 5-10 minute YouTube videos solely focused on the morning exercises you need to stretch out your muscles.

3. Eat Breakfast
Easier said than done. So many people skip breakfast because it's a waste of time or they eat on the go. It's so much better for your body to take the time to sit down and eat a healthy breakfast. Think smart and eat something that will give you enough energy and nutrition to start the day off well. You don't want to get hungry half an hour later!

4. Plan Your Day
Use those 5 minutes of eating breakfast to plan the day ahead. Make a checklist of things that need to be done - prioritise and organise! You'll be surprised how much more you achieve when you've thought about it in the morning.

5.  Think Positive, Visualise and Motivate Yourself
This may just be the most important thing you can do to start your day right. Give yourself a moment alone and without distractions to be  inspired and motivated. Visualise how you want your day to pan out, think positive and happy. Apart from all the things that have to be done from step 4 - think of things you can do to make yourself and the world around you better. Maybe today you can focus on being kinder, being patient, being positive. Give yourself time to feel motivated.

Every day is an opportunity to be the very best day you've ever had ♥
